2027 Winslow Retreat

We’re delighted to announce that the 2027 Winslow Yarn and Fiber Arts Retreat will be held at La Posada Inn, 303 East 2nd Street (Route 66) Winslow, Arizona 86047, from Friday afternoon, February 12th to Monday morning, February 15th.

The Yarn Store At Nob Hill is sponsoring the event again this year, and the Events page on the store’s website will have a registration form, and a sign-up for all Winslow-related updates. Once again there is no fee to attend. There’s an option to order the annual swag bag if desired, with a $35 charge.

Check back occasionally for updates regarding the group dinner, and presentations and other activities.

The weekend includes Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day, so we advise attendees to make their reservations early if they wish to stay at La Posada Inn, which is a highly popular destination boutique hotel. Reservations can be made by calling 928-289-4366, or going to the hotel website. There is no special registration code to register. Payment will be charged when the reservation is made.

IF YOU REQUIRE GROUND FLOOR ACCOMMODATION, IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU MAKE HOTEL & TRAIN RESERVATIONS EARLY.

There are other hotels in the area, including a Best Western that is about 5 minutes away from La Posada.

Attendees traveling from Albuquerque have the option of taking the train! Amtrak’s Southwest Chief 

stops just outside La Posada Inn, which is a beautifully renovated Harvey House. Tickets can be purchased a few different ways: online through the Amtrak website, by phone, or in person at the station. Amtrak does have limited availability seating for those with limited mobility, so early reservations are recommended.

Things to Expect 

The main intention for this annual gathering is to offer an opportunity to meet and get to know other crafters in a lovely space. At the 2024 gathering, one woman commented with delight that it was a rare chance to talk at length about her passion with others who are just as passionate. 

Vendors 

There will be an opportunity for fiber-related shopping on Saturday. Watch this space for specific vendors as they are confirmed.

Tips for a Successful Adventure

    •    Bring your own work light. La Posada is lovely, and beautifully decorated - but the lighting is more about coziness than anything else.

    •    Especially this year, if you’re interested in having dinner at The Turquoise Room, make reservations. It’s a very popular restaurant and a holiday weekend.

    •    Internet signal in the hotel’s public areas can be spotty. 

    •    February in Winslow is an unpredictable thing - in previous years we’ve had snow, but also warm and sunny days that invite one out for a stroll. We advise attendees to check weather conditions before traveling - and bring a wrap, just in case.
