Join us for this amazing fiber arts retreat event

It’s not too early to begin planning for the next Winslow fiber adventure! Really!

It’s now seven years since folks started gathering at La Posada in Winslow for a weekend in February, to knit and spin and crochet, to shop and visit and sample the amazing food served at The Turquoise Room, to meet like-minded crafters from as far away as Chicago and as close as neighbors.

One of the best comments we’ve heard was from a woman who was so delighted by the chance to talk about her crafting passion with others who were equally passionate. This year, The Yarn Store at Nob Hill is taking the lead (thanks, Svetlana!). Information and updates will be posted on a dedicated page of the store’s website. The members of the previous planning team will still be active in creating the event.

WHAT: The 7th Winslow Knitting, Spinning, Crocheting & Weaving Retreat

WHEN: Friday, February 13 - Monday, February 16, 2026.

WHERE: A block of rooms have been set aside for reservations until January 1, 2026 at:

La Posada Hotel

303 East 2nd Street (Route 66)

Winslow, Arizona. 86047

You will be responsible for making your own hotel reservation by calling 928-289-4366, and referring to “*******”. Payment will be charged when the reservation is made.

IF YOU REQUIRE GROUND FLOOR ACCOMMODATION, IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU MAKE HOTEL & TRAIN RESERVATIONS EARLY.

HOW TO GET THERE: Though not required, part of the fun of the trip is riding the Amtrak to this historic Fred Harvey hotel. A round-trip coach ticket from Albuquerque costs $78 - $100.

Coach seating is open and there are a limited number of seats for mobility impaired riders. Amtrak ticket prices vary with availability so get your ticket soon! Tickets can be bought:

- at the station in downtown Albuquerque (easiest way!)

- by calling 1-800-872-7245 (hit the “0” button twice to speak to a live representative)

- on-line through the Amtrak website (not the easiest way!)

FOOD: There are several dining options in Winslow. The Turquoise Room, located in the hotel, is a highly regarded restaurant serving “regional contemporary Southwestern cuisine.”

Attendees will able to enjoy meals on their own or with others. Reservations are required for the evening meal. There WILL be a group dinner Sunday night. More details on that will come later.

OTHER: There will be vendors and presenters and lots of opportunity to share with and learn from people who love working with yarn, in all of its various phases.
